I don't ever want to leave, I'm in a tropic love...

The fifth week in Brazil. Today I will talk to you about the Brazilian culture. Where do I start? There is so much to tell about Brazil and I barely scratched the surface because I have only been here for one month. Now I know for sure that 6 months is way too short. I wish I could stay longer but unfortunately I have some things to do in the Netherlands... ;) The people here are very warm and open. They do not judge as much as the Dutch and are not as distant and cold. Besides I love the nature even in a crowded city like Belo Horizonte. I thought I would never get used to the idea of living in a big city but it is actually alright. I just have to learn more Portuguese.

I will start with the food in Brazil. Let me tell you, everything is different from the Netherlands, of course. When you think Dutch products contain a lot of sugar, think again. In Brazil it's worse, everything contains sugar. It will not surprise you if I tell diet and slimming products are also very popular. And near the place where I live there are a lot of sporting and health centers. Overall the meat is very good (it's hard to be a vegetarian here, the girl who lives next door has a lot of struggles finding something vegetarian) and of course, cachaça... :) I like caipirinha, it is a traditional Brazilian cocktail with cachaça, lime, ice and sugar (of course... :D). It is strong though, so watch out. The Brazilian wine I don't like so much. And don't get me started about brigadeiro or Guarana Antarctica.

I was told that the Brazilian men are very direct in approaching. It's true. You kind of have to watch out. And I have this problem if someone starts to talk with me, I am polite and talk back, even if I don't like the person. Luckily I can say I don't speak Portuguese and then some guys dance with me for a moment and then go away.

About dancing and Brazilian music, I fell in love with the music here. I follow forró classes every Wednesday and Saturday. It's a little bit hard because I don't understand everything but I won't give up and maybe someday I will learn how to dance forró properly... :D

That was it for today if you have any questions, please don't be shy and comment to my stories. I hope you guys like it! :) Tchau! Até logo!

PS: the title of this post belongs to the Diviners and Contacreast, I don't own it.

Gostei muito das suas primeiras impressões sobre Belo Horizonte. Espero que aproveite muito mais do Brasil!
